They support the development of economic relations, provide legal assistance and represent a given country in a specific region – the role and tasks of honorary consuls in contemporary diplomacy were discussed on the 13th of March at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin by honorary consuls performing their functions in Lublin and professional diplomats from Austria and the Czech Republic.
The aim of the discussion was to exchange knowledge and experiences in the field of consular activities and to seek answers to questions regarding contemporary challenges facing honorary and professional consuls. The participants of the conversation, with extensive diplomatic and business experience, shared with the audience their observations on the evolution of the tasks of the honorary consul in crisis situations, as well as in times of dynamically developing economic cooperation between the represented countries.
