The race for global dominance has also firmly entrenched itself in the digital and space spheres, as we witness daily in media reports on the movements and decisions of states and major corporations linked to government administrations.
Donald Trump, taking up another term as president, set himself a simple goal: to emerge victorious from the US-China rivalry while maintaining the image of the United States as a country shaping the international order.
On the 4th of April, we hosted at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin Prof. David Criekemens from the University of Antwerp, an expert in the field of geopolitics and security, who gave a lecture entitled “US Foreign Policy under Donald Trump 2.0 and Its Consequences for European Strategy”.
During the lecture, Prof. Criekemans discussed the significance of the ongoing US-Chinese rivalry for the geopolitical situation in Europe and outlined the priorities of the United States regarding local conflicts. The lecture initiated further discussion with meeting participants on the recent moves of the American administration towards selected countries and key geostrategic regions.
